In this photo taken Nov. 7, 2010, alleged drug traffickers who did not want to identify themselves, hold their weapons while posing for a photo at a slum in western Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio is seeing violent, chaotic days. Armed men have set up roadblocks in key areas _ a highway leading to the international airport, an avenue running by the state government's headquarters, quiet streets in wealthier neighborhoods _ letting loose rifle fire, tossing grenades. Police responded by invading more than 20 slums and engaging traffickers in massive shootouts. Authorities now control one of the most fortified slums where traffickers long ruled with impunity, and are preparing to invade another that many fear will ignite an even bloodier battle. less
