A placard referring to a recent sex scandal that involved Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, hangs from a statue of 19th century political figure and Finance Minister Federico Seismit-Doda, in Rome, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011. Prosecutors said they will request a trial against Premier Silvio Berlusconi over accusations he paid for sex with a 17-year-old girl and then used his influence to cover it up. Prosecutor Edmondo Bruti Liberati said Tuesday he would deposit the request with the Milan court Wednesday when he would decide whether to seek trial on both accusations, and whether they would be tried separately or simultaneously. Bruti Liberati said prosecutors gathering evidence in the case would meet later Tuesday "to formulate definitively'' the trial request. less
