President Barack Obama embraces Monica Weeks after she spoke about the new health care law, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, in the South Court Auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House complex in Washington. Weeks benefited from the Affordable Care Act when at 23 and in graduate school, she was able to remain on her parents’ health care plan and receive the treatments she needed for Crohn’s disease at an affordable cost. The President argued that his health law is preventing insurance discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions and is allowing young people to stay on their parents' coverage until age 26.
