Research from Cornell University has inspired a weight loss strategy called the “Fridge Diet.” The study found that food placement inside a refrigerator impacts snacking habits. People are three times more likely to eat healthy food when it's in their line of sight when the refrigerator door is opened. The average person opens their refrigerator 22 times a day, so strategically reorganizing a fridge could aid in weight loss. A separate study by the Journal of Consumer Psychology found that people tend to eat less when resources are scarce. So, another weight loss strategy is to buy only a few days worth of food at a time to trick the mind into eating less. less
