Edward Snowden, charged with disclosing secret U.S. surveillance programs, left Hong Kong for Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. An airport source said the 30-year-old American, who has asked for asylum in Ecuador, had flown in and had been booked on a flight to Cuba but had not got on board. The White House pressed Russia to exercise all options to expel Edward Snowden and slammed China for allowing the former U.S. spy agency contractor who disclosed government surveillance secrets to leave Hong Kong. Production giant FremantleMedia has kicked off the Eastern European TV market N-A-T-P-E Budapest in impressive style. They opened the event with a series of major regional deals, including ones for hit talent show The X Factor.
