Wall Street stock futures are under pressure Wednesday over fears that Russia may be amassing troops near the Ukrainian border that could lead to a dramatic escalation in hostilities there. Global markets also sold off sharply. Dow index futures were down 0.4%, S&P 500 index futures declined 0.4% and Nasdaq futures were off 0.5%. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 1.1% to 15,159.79 and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong lost 0.3% to 24,584.13. Markets across Europe were also jittery with benchmark bourses in the region seeing steep declines. Most were down well over 1%. Spain's IBEX 35 index dropped 1.6% and the German DAX shed 1.3%. Britain's FTSE 100 index was down 1.2%. NATO said that Russia has amassed around 20,000 combat-ready troops on Ukraine's Eastern border. less
