The new Galaxy Mega smartphone will soon make its debut in Samsung's home base of South Korea. Offering a 6.3-inch display, the new Mega will roll out this week, according to the Wall Street Journal. The phone is expected to cost $895 without a contract and will be available across three Korean carriers -- SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus. Windows Phone saw the biggest leap in shipments among all mobile platforms last quarter, surging 77.6 percent from the prior year's quarter. Samsung Electronics Co. has applied for U.S. and South Korean trademarks for a watch that connects to the Internet. Samsung described "Samsung Galaxy Gear" as a wearable digital electronic device in the form of a wristwatch and will be able to make and receive phone calls, as well as send messages and emails. less
