Sarah Brady, wife of James Brady, the White House press secretary who was seriously injured in the 1981 assassination attempt against President Ronald Reagan, is joined by gun violence prevention advocates to mark the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, at the Capitol in Washington, Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. The law, enacted by President Bill Clinton, called for a five-day waiting period for the purchase of a handgun and a background check of any individual purchasing a firearm from a federally licensed dealer.
