COLUMBIA, SC - JANUARY 19: South Carolina National Guardsman 1Lt. Trey Bruner (2ndR) holds his daughter, 18-month-old Ali Kathryn, at a job fair for National Guardsmen, veterans and their families on January 19, 2012 in Columbia, South Carolina. Bruner's wife Leah came to meet potential employers after having been out of work for the last 18 months. South Carolina has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country at 9.9 percent, with the veteran unemployment rate even higher, estimated at about 13 percent. Some 1,000 National Guard soldiers have returned from active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last year and many are unemployed. The poor state economy and high unemployment is expected to be a key consideration for South Carolinans going to the polls in Saturday's Republican primary. (Photo by John Moore/Getty Images) less
