spending
Sandy Wallace writes: "America is at a crossroads on the road to our economic future. On one side of the aisle in Congress are those who live in the financial fast lane. Faster than the money comes in one door, it rolls out the other. Every want is a need in the eyes of these hard and fast spenders. On the other side of the aisle are the fiscal conservatives who believe that you can't spend what you don't have. Their voices are tiny ripples in the wild sea of spending that the federal government has become. The piggy banks in this photograph belong to my grandchildren and sit on a shelf in my family room. Each time they visit, my husband and I give our grandchildren change to add to their piggy banks. The photo represents the economy of future generations in our country. As an adult, I understand what my dad tried to teach me. You can't spend what you don't have. It's time for our leaders to teach us all by example that money doesn't grow on trees. Cut government spending by 10 percent across the board. The future starts now."
