A statue of a shot and bleeding Trayvon Martin takes the place of a baby Jesus figure in a Nativity scene at the Claremont United Methodist Church in Claremont, California December 27, 2013. The church says the scene is meant to encourage people to reflect on gun violence and racial privilege during the Christmas holiday, according to a sign next to the scene at the church. Jesus was born into a state of total vulnerability as an innocent, unarmed child during a time of great violence, much like Trayvon Martin, the sign said.
