Thousands gathered at a cemetery in the city of Modiin on July 1 to mourn three Israeli teens whose bodies were found in the West Bank the previous day. Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar, and Naftali Fraenkel, went missing in the occupied West Bank on June 12. Their disappearance sparked a wide-scale Israeli security operation in the Palestinian territories.

Israel Defense Force (IDF) launched an offensive in Hebron in response to the discovery of the bodies, raiding the homes Hamas members suspected of having carried out the kidnapping of the teens.
