Three days strike comes to an end in Bangladesh
A 3-day stir that hit the livelihoods of several daily wage earners in Bangladesh ended on Thursday, amid fresh protests by Gonajagoran Manch who opposed the 18-party alliance, Jamaat-e-Islami and sought its abolition. Earlier, the strike was called by the students' wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh, named Islami Chhatra Shibir and it was supported by the country's main opposition, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to protest against the arrest of their respective leaders, in connection to the war crimes committed, at the time of the country's liberation struggle.
