Three sisters from Saint Johns Monastery, about 10 miles east of Goldendale, Wash., race across Highway 97 on Weds., Sept. 7, 2011. The nuns were running garden hoses across the highway to fight the fire, along with using rags to beat the flames down near their monastery. Nine homes and ten outbuildings have burned and 300 people have been evacuated at a wildfire burning near Satus Pass in south central Washington, the state Department of Natural Resources said.
