This Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 picture shows a wheat field on the Ole Kurto farm in Njoro, Kenya, about 200 kilometers (125 miles) northwest of Nairobi, after a heavy rain. The deadly Ug99 stem rust fungus, which has infected parts of this farm, had spread from Uganda to Kenya and has now reached the Mideast, and endangers wheat crops worldwide. Along with climate change and stagnating yields, the disease is a threat to global wheat supplies. less
