Tia Skinner is led from the courtroom after being re-sentenced to life without parole Thursday, July 11 in 31st Circuit court in Port Huron, Mich., for the murder of her father, Paul Skinner in 2010. Skinner returned to court as a result of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that bars mandatory no-parole sentences for under-18s convicted of first-degree murder. The St. Clair County Circuit Court judge was free to give Skinner a shot at parole but settled again on a sentence that means she’ll never leave prison. (AP Photo/The Port Huron Times Herald, Mark R.
