More than 1,800 people were confirmed dead and many more were feared trapped under rubble on 25 April in Nepal's worst earthquake in more than 80 years. The official death toll from the magnitude-7.9 earthquake reached 1,805, the Home Ministry said. One official said that figure could triple. Saturday's quake flattened buildings across the country and razed many historic landmarks. It was also felt in China, Bangladesh and India, where more than 40 deaths were reported.
