MARSEILLE, FRANCE - AUGUST 15: The French flag is hanging high on board during a Calanques boat tour on August 15, 2012 in Marseille, France. A calanque is a steep-walled inlet, cove, or bay that is developed in limestone or other carbonate strata and found along the Mediterranean coast. The calanques between Marseille and Cassis are popular amongst tourists and most of them are also closed to the public during the summer due to the risks of forest fire that often happen during the dry season. The cliffs are also used as training spots for rock climbers. (Photo by Franco Origlia/Getty Images) less
