Tourists take selfies outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, August 22, 2014. The Notre Dame Cathedral greets some 13 million tourists a year according to their official web site. The cathedral, with it construction which dates from 1163, is an important example of French Gothic architecture, sculpture and stained glass. France kept its title as the world's top tourist destination in 2013, drawing nearly 85 million visitors despite a lacklustre economic situation as Chinese interest intensified and North Americans surged back to the country.
