An unidentified plane flies near disputed islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, in the air over the East China Sea, in this handout photo taken by Japan Air Self-Defence Force and released by Joint Staff of the Defence Ministry of Japan September 9, 2013. Japan's Defence Ministry said on Monday it scrambled fighter jets after it had spotted an unidentified plane that appeared to be a drone in the East China Sea area. No violation of Japan's air space took place. This is the first time for the ministry to spot an unidentified unmanned plane around Japan, the ministry said.
