US honor guards stand during a farewell ceremony for the remains of Staff Sgt. Meceslaus T. Miaskiewicz at the Sarajevo airport, Bosnia, on Tuesday, Sep. 27, 2011. Almost seven decades after he died in World War II, the remains of Staff Sgt. Meceslaus T. Miaskiewicz left Bosnia to be returned to his relatives in Massachusetts. Wrapped in a U.S. flag, his coffin was loaded on a U.S. C-130 to be flown back home. Miaskiewicz's remains were thought to have been collected after WWII along with seven other crew members of a B-17 that crashed in 1944 while returning to Italy from a bombing mission in Romania.
