Veterinarian Quynh Dinh gives treatment to a Rottweiler dog at a pet clinic in Hanoi October 4, 2013. Thousands of dogs from around the world gathered in Vietnam for a two-day international dog beauty contest on October 5-6, organizers said. While dog meat is considered a special dish in Vietnam, as well as in South Korea, dog lovers in the Southeast Asian nation now can pay thousands of dollars to import a pet from Germany, England, the U.S., Mexico or Japan. Pets get special treatments such as going to clinics, beauty salons and hotels and when a pet dog dies, owners can also arrange for a funeral to be held. Photo taken on October 4, 2013.
