Volyn Region Governor Alexander Bashkalenko sits with his hand handcuffed to the stage after he was captured by anti-government protesters during a rally in the town of Lutsk in northwestern Ukraine, February 19, 2014. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich accused pro-European opposition leaders on Wednesday of trying to seize power by force after at least 26 people died in the worst violence since the former Soviet republic gained independence. Protesters also took over regional authorities' headquarters in Ivano-Frankivsk, blocked a road to a border crossing into Poland and torched the main police station in the city of Ternopil.
