In this Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 photo, an Egyptian Coptic monk prays on his knees in the Mar Girgis, or St. George Monastery south of the ancient city of Luxor, Egypt. There is no sign of the hundreds of thousands of Christian pilgrims who normally flock here every November. The Egyptian government canceled the annual week-long festival of Mar Girgis, in Luxor, fearing it would be a target for Islamic militants who have stepped up attacks since the July 3 ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.
