Home appliance maker Whirlpool Corporation said its Chinese unit would acquire a 51 percent stake in Hefei Rongshida Sanyo Electric Company for about $552 million. Larry Ellison, Oracle's outspoken chief executive officer, said Google CEO Larry Page acted "absolutely evil" and accused the Internet company of using Oracle's products without permission in an interview with Charlie Rose on "CBS This Morning." When asked if he thought Page was evil, Ellison replied: "I think what they did was absolutely evil." Google, whose motto is "don't be evil," declined to comment. Inventories at U.S. businesses were flat in June and firms outside the auto sector cut back on restocking, which might weigh against estimates for economic growth in the second quarter. less
