Workers lift and erect scaffolding at the Washington Monument in the nation's capital on March 14, 2013. The scaffolding, which will cover the entire exterior of the monument, is part of a $9.6 million dollar contract from the National Park Service which includes mortar and strengthening repairs on the 555-foot tall obelisk that was damaged from the 2011 earthquake.
