NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 29: Commuters head for the Staten Island Ferry a day after Hurricane Irene on August 29, 2011 in New York City. While the hurricane was milder than forecasters and politicians had predicted, it did cause extensive flood damage and power outages across the New York metropolitan area. Subways and buses, which had been closed for the first time in New York City history, resumed their schedules with only minor delays Monday morning. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images) less
