Dr. Przybylski is a highly experienced and compassionate physician who has been practicing internal medicine for over 40 years. Early in his career, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin’s Medical School in 1968, he went on to residency at the U.S. Navy Hospital in Boston, MA, where he later accepted the Chief of Rheumatology position as well as an internal medicine staff position. He later practiced at Waltham-Weston Hospital & Medical Center and most recently at Lahey Clinic Medical Center where he continues to work as a consulting physician in the department of Executive Health. Dr. Przybylski’s decision to open his own practice was an easy one. He said, “Today’s healthcare environment and traditional primary care model is, in my opinion, unsatisfactory- both for patients and their physicians. The concierge membership model that PFP practices has allowed me to practice medicine the way it should be practiced. I now have the time to build even more meaningful and collaborative relationships with my patients so that, together, we can take a real proactive approach to their health. I feel very lucky to be doing what I love in an environment that I can most effectively care for my patients.”
Physicians for Prevention, like other concierge practices, limit their practice to approximately 300 patients compared to over 5,000 in the traditional setting. Members pay an annual fee for care and enjoy substantial, specific benefits that promote long-term well-being. “The data is staggering,” says Dr. Dean McElwain, who is working on the business side of PFP, “and reveals that despite a sicker patient population, practices like PFP are not only keeping their patients healthier, they are also saving the healthcare system money during its crisis.”
Appropriately slated just prior to Valentine’s Day, the inaugural PFP Health Seminar will be held on February 2ND at the Physicians for Prevention offices, and will focus on the heart healthy benefits of chocolate and red wine. Dr. Przybylski said, “We want patients to have the opportunity to engage with us in an educational setting that is fun and informative. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about health and we hope to answer our patient’s questions and separate fact from fiction on topics that are meaningful and relevant to them.” Future seminars will incorporate guest lecturers and include topics related to managing cholesterol, practicing good nutrition, etc.
