Pictomio review

Pictomio is an innovative app for managing and viewing your photos, and it offers a few fun features to make the process more enjoyable. With just a few clicks, you can import your photos into this program and begin organizing them in any manner you see fit.

Pros

Display options: This app lets you view your photos in several different ways to make it easy to keep track of them and organize them effectively. You can opt for thumbnails, a filmstrip, or single images, and there is even a Carousel view that lets you swipe with your mouse through an endlessly rotating stream of photos.

Map views: Another nice feature of this app is the Map View option, which lets you see where all of your photos were taken. When you enter this area of the app, you also get to choose between Google Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth, depending on your personal viewing preference. Both options work well.

Cons

Error messages: You have to update to the latest version of DirectX to use this app, but even when you have it installed, the program will sometimes tell you that you need a new one. We also encountered multiple error messages about problems running scripts on the page during testing.

Banner ad: There is a large banner ad across the bottom of the interface, and it can be quite distracting when it flashes or changes. Its' also easy to hit by accident since it is so large, and that will disrupt your use of the program.

Bottom Line

Pictomio gives you basic tools for managing your photos, and it includes some nice features to enhance your viewing experience. There are some significant bugs in this program, however, that definitely detract from the user experience, but it's a free program, so it's worth trying out to see if it's a good fit for what you need.
