Pining for Palin and Trump, and Settling for Cain

COMMENTARY | As a conservative, this upcoming election is a pivotal one. As our country continues with its economic woes, protesters and the media add to the chaos. To top it off, I was/am a Palin supporter and need to find someone else to vote for.

Rick Perry mandated HPV shots to 12-year-old girls because he was emotional over his mom's death. Illegal kids get a better deal on college in his state. If he has plans for the economy, I have not seen or heard the details of them.

Mitt Romney is a good man that cares about this country, but I've never considered him a strong conservative. I do not believe in the "he's next in line" theory.

Michelle Bachmann is conservative, but I wish she could get through a debate without using "I" so much. She is another candidate that talks around the issues of jobs, economy and taxes. Once again, there are no concrete plans.

Herman Cain is the only one I would consider voting for right now. He has his 999 plan, and he is a businessman rather than a politician. He is light on foreign affairs, but I trust he would surround himself with topnotch advisers.

Call me crazy, but I'm still pining for Palin or Trump or both. This country needs a firm hand, a bold plan and someone with the guts to back it up. These times call for people who are committed and passionate about this country, the constitution and freedom.

Palin has taken an absolute beating from the GOP and media. Some make her out as a ditz or incompetent. She knows about energy and she cares about the environment. Her passion for the country is unsurpassed by the other candidates. She knows no fear, which is why she was so fiercely set upon.

There's only one Donald Trump. He is outspoken, full of himself and can be a bit abrasive. He deals with China and knows the ins and outs of trade and commerce that most of the other candidates do not. Like Cain, what he does not know about foreign affairs, he will find the best of the best to be advisers to him.

If I had to vote today, I'd vote for Herman Cain and be happy.
