Pixel XL Orders Delayed Following Massive Demand
Can't wait to get your hands on a super-sized Pixel XL? Better mark your calendar for 2017, then, as certain models of Google's new Pixel phones could be delayed until after Christmas, according to reports.
Some orders already placed for the 128 GB Pixel XL, the larger of two models, won't ship from the manufacturer until Dec. 26, according to Android Headlines. And orders placed for that model now won't ship until until January 13, according to the Verizon Wireless website. This comes after the phones were already delayed by a month, according to reports just weeks after Google unveiled the devices at an October event in San Francisco.

Google is expected to sell 3 million Pixel phones during the last quarter of this year, and 5.5 million of the phones next year, according Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak.

Verizon is the only carrier to directly offer the Pixel and Pixel XL, where both the 32GB and 128GB versions of the larger XL won't ship until January if you order them today. (The 32GB Pixel is available now from the carrier, while the 128GB version of the 5-inch phone ships a few days after you order it.) You can also buy the phone unlocked directly from Google, though right now the 128GB version of the Pixel XL is listed as out of stock.
