    Planning Groups Collaborate to Help Professionals Further Knowledge Base

    The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) are establishing a relationship to share educational content with the members of the respective organizations to help them enhance their knowledge base.

    The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) are establishing a relationship to share educational content with the members of the respective organizations to help them enhance their knowledge base.

    NAPFA, the country’s leading association of Fee-Only financial advisors, will offer ADFP members an opportunity to attend NAPFA conferences and take part in various educational programs designed to help advisors transition to a Fee-Only compensation model. The ADFP, an association of divorce financial planners who have an interdisciplinary knowledge of financial and legal issues in divorce, will offer NAPFA members an opportunity to take part in educational programs on the nuances of divorce planning.

    “We are excited about the opportunity to share our educational content with members of the ADFP who are interested in understanding how they can transition their businesses to a Fee-Only model,” said Ellen Turf, CEO of NAPFA. “NAPFA members practice comprehensive financial planning, addressing issues that go beyond investments. Our hope is that ADFP members will be able to build on their knowledge for the benefit of their clients and, if they feel it makes sense for them, learn what they have to do to be a member of NAPFA.”

    The educational content that will be shared between the organizations will include discounts to attend the national conferences of both organizations, webinars, and articles to be printed in association magazines and newsletters.

    “Both organizations are closely aligned in the mission to promote and enhance public and professional recognition of Fee-Only financial planning practitioners, albeit we specialize in a specific niche of divorce financial planning,” said Lili A. Vasileff, President of the ADFP. “We believe members of both NAPFA and the ADFP will benefit from the synergy of our organizations in areas of providing continuing education, membership discounts, website content and marketing.”

    The relationship is in the development stages and opportunities for the members of both organizations will be announced in the coming weeks.
