PlayStation 4 FAQ reveals launch lineup, potential PS3 crossplay

Earlier this month, Sony put together a succinct fact sheet detailing how to share digital games on the PlayStation 4. This turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg as Sony has now put an enormous FAQ online that answers virtually any remaining questions that potential customers might have regarding the console. There’s far too much to cover, and plenty not worth covering, but a few gems stick out.

Near the top of the FAQ, Sony has a growing list of every title officially confirmed for the PS4′s launch. The launch titles so far are listed below:

All of the games are now scheduled to hit store shelves on (or in some cases before) November 15th. Although the publishers have the final say in whether these games will also be available digitally on launch day, Sony does expect many to appear on the PlayStation Store on November 15th.

There are a few other interesting tidbits revealed in the FAQ. Sony has never strayed from its position that the PlayStation 4 will in no way be backwards compatible with old software from any previous consoles, but when asked whether PS3 gamers could play online with PS4 gamers, Sony stated that “the functionality is technically possible and some developers may choose to support it for their titles.” PS3 users will also be able to interact with PS4 users via text messages.

Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will not support external hard drives or most current third-party headsets, although the internal hard drive can be upgraded as long as the new hard drive complies with Sony’s standards, and the PS4 will come with a headset of its own for voice chat out of the box.
