Famous poker players back Breakout Gaming's Breakout Coin, a new Gaming/Esports based Cryptocurrency

The advent and success of Bitcoin and Dogecoin has paved the way for future cryptocurrencies and Breakout Gaming hopes that their newest cryptocurrency, the Breakout Coin will be the next big success.

Focused primarily on gaming, the newest cryptocurrency is backed by a number of poker stars including: Johnny Chan, Huck Seed, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forrest, Todd Brunson and Vladimir Shchemelev.

“We are going to shake up the gaming community with the world’s first cryptocurrency that has a dedicated ecosystem for its coins,” said core-partner and two-time back-to-back WSOP champion Johnny Chan. “We felt there was an untouched niche for digital currency enthusiast to play digital games such as Poker, Blackjack, and Fantasy Sports, all while investing in the long-term opportunity of Breakout being the next go-to gaming destination.”

New currencies are often hindered by the lack of retailers willing to accept said currency as a payment option and it seems likely that the Breakout Coin will initially suffer the same problem but Breakout hopes to address this issue by creating an entire ecosystem to spend the currency on.

For starters, Breakout states that there will be a custom built web exchange that converts Bitcoin to Breakout Coin and vice versa; a cold storage option is also available to protect the currency from hackers and will feature over 88 different casino games. A Fantasy Esports section featuring League of Legends and Dota 2 will also be launched.

“In life, we are always being told to work hard in order to play hard,” said sponsored player and partner Jennifer Harman. “At Breakout Gaming we’re offering the opportunity to have these two sides meet in an intelligently designed investment and gaming platform. It’s like an online gaming playground for the ‘cryptos’ of the world.”

Headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, Breakout, with operations in Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada, promises that all of its channels and games will be properly licensed and deployed only in “legal-to-play” markets.

“Breakout Gaming will be positioned to address both players’ desires for privacy and regulators’ demands to meet both KYC and AML rules. In that regard the BRO Coin launch will present a breakthrough in a layered design.” said David Gzesh of iGaming.

In terms of esports related ventures, Breakout Gaming will be announcing a number of League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments at the end of October, which, according to Breakout will feature substantial prize pools.

While the Press Release hasn’t said anything about a launch date for the site, Ted Forrest stated that it'll be launching at the end of next month.

The current climate of cryptocurrency and the fact that Breakout Coin a new cryptocurrency will certainly make investing into Breakout Coin carry a significant risk and skepticism about a coin based around gaming and esports is justified, but the endorsements by significant Poker players will certainly generate buzz around the new cryptocoin.
