Police investigating after body found in pond at Largo Central Park

LARGO — Police were investigating Thursday after a person was found dead in a pond at Largo Central Park.

The body was discovered in the pond next to the park’s Military Court of Honor, said Largo police spokesperson Megan Santo.

Santo said no other details were available for release Thursday, including whether investigators suspected foul play. Santo said the death did not appear to be related to Hurricane Ian, which passed through the area Wednesday and Thursday.

The 70-acre park is located near the intersection of East Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard.
