Police: Storm death toll rises to at least 14 in Ky., 31 nationwide; town 'totally destroyed'

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. - A public affairs officer with the Kentucky State Police says three people have died and at least 75 people have been injured by storms in the northeastern Kentucky city of West Liberty.

Endre Samu with the Morehead post says of West Liberty: "This town is totally destroyed."

That brings Friday's total storm-related fatalities in Kentucky to 14 and at least 31 in three states. It wasn't immediately clear if the three deaths reported in West Liberty were in addition to one previously reported in Morgan County.

Fourteen people have also been reported killed in Indiana, and three in Ohio.
