PornHub reported a 10% drop in traffic on the day that hotly anticipated video game Fallout 4 was released.

The world’s most popular adult video site said that a drop in traffic among gamers occurred on 10 November around 5am when fans had finished downloading and installing the game.

The drop from usual numbers continued until around 3pm. Traffic then dropped again from 6pm before returning to ‘normal’ levels at 11pm.

PornHub Vice President Corey Price told GamesBeat: “Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”

Published by Bethesda, Fallout 4 is one of the biggest gaming releases of the year, with the company already shipping more than 12 million copies of the game.

The long-awaited role player game is set in a post-apocalyptic version of Boston and other parts of New England know as ‘The Commonwealth’.

A special edition of the game was shipped with a real-life version of the ‘Pip-boy’ wrist-based computer featured in the popular gaming series.
