NEW YORK (AP) — PriceSmart Inc. said Thursday that revenue at stores open at least 13 1/2 months climbed 13.2 percent in May.
This figure is a key gauge of a retailer's health because it excludes results from stores recently opened or closed.
The warehouse club operator said total monthly revenue rose 16.1 percent to $163.4 million.
For the year to date, revenue at stores open at least 13 1/2 months increased 16.1 percent. Total revenue rose 21.1 percent to $1.5 billion.
PriceSmart, which is based in San Diego, will report its third-quarter financial results July 9. The company runs U.S.-style membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean. It currently has 29 warehouse clubs in 12 countries and one U.S. territory.
