Promiscuous roommate from hell may cost Massachusetts college $150,000

The Daily Caller

Lindsay Blankmeyer, a former student at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, is suing the school over the sexual behaviors of her roommate, claiming that the college did nothing to help her.

Blankmeyer claims in her lawsuit that her roommate, Laura, would have sex with her boyfriend while she was in the room and sleeping.

“The roommate was having online and actual sex right in front of her,” Blankmeyer’s complaint states. She also claims that Laura would engage in “sexually inappropriate video chatting when Lindsay was in the room.”

Because Blankmeyer alleges her mental health deteriorated while she was in that situation and the school did nothing to help her resolve it, she is suing the college for $150,000.

The student argues she requested to move to a single room, but the school “refused” and that’s when she “fell into a dark and suicidal depression,” leading her to take a leave of absence to seek psychiatric and medical treatment.

Blackmeyer said that the resident director and the school did nothing to help the situation. The college, however, denied the accusations to ABC News.

Stonehill College felt as though it “responded swiftly and professionally to the concerns of the student in this case, seeking to help resolve the matter.”

College spokeswoman Kristen Magda Magda said, “The student was then presented with multiple options for housing on campus, including a private room. The College also made special arrangements for the student to complete her degree while living at home.”

Magda also said that Blackmeyer never discussed her roommate’s sexual activity with the school.

Blankmeyer suffers from depression and Attention Deficit Disorder, but argues that her “emotional state” was heightened during her senior year due to her roommate’s inappropriate behavior.

Martin McGovern, director of Communications and Media Relations at Stonehill College told CBS in a statement, “We are reviewing the complaint, which focuses on a previous roommate issue. There are two sides, and sometimes more, to every story.”
