    Prosecutor: RFK son kicked nurse in infant scuffle

    MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. (AP) — A maternity ward nurse has testified at a New York trial that a son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy twisted her arm and kicked another nurse to the floor.

    The witness, Anna Lane, said the nurses were trying to stop Douglas Kennedy from taking his newborn son out of Northern Westchester Hospital on Jan. 7.

    Kennedy went on trial Monday on charges of harassment and child endangerment. He calls the charges absurd. He says he was just taking the baby out for some fresh air.

    Lane testified that Kennedy told her he didn't need permission to take his son outside.

    On cross-examination, Kennedy's lawyer brought out that Lane has hired a civil lawyer who has threatened Kennedy with a lawsuit.
