SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico's governor says his administration has invested more than $34 million to buy new crime-fighting equipment for the U.S. territory.

Alejandro Garcia Padilla said Tuesday that the government bought four new helicopters for a specialized police unit. Officials also are refurbishing three existing helicopters and renovating the unit's hangar.

Garcia said police also will receive five Humvees and 12 four-wheel vehicles.
