Quake of 5.9 magnitude strikes off Japan: USGS

(Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 5.9 magnitude struck off Japan's northeast coast on Monday. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The quake was 80 km (50 miles) deep and centered 132 km (82 miles) north northeast of Hachinohe, Honshu, the U.S. Geological Survey said. (Editing by Nick Macfie)
