A Rasmussen Poll Has Cain Beating Obama

Herman Cain's been gaining steam, but enough to oust President Obama? The latest Rasmussen poll has Cain as the only Republican beating Obama in a hypothetical 2012 race, with 43 percent going for Cain and only 41 percent for Obama. While the number might have Democrats shaky, the numbers should be taken with a very large granular of salt. Rasmussen skews Republican (just as Public Policy Polling tends to skew for Democrats), often over predicting Republican performance. Which may actually be the most worrying thing for the G.O.P.: every candidate other than Cain that the outfit has matched up against Obama has lost in their surveys, including Romney who had 41 percent against Obama's 43 percent in a poll conducted last week.
