Ratings: ‘Blood & Oil’ Leaks, ‘Quantico’ Slips for ABC

ABC’s “Quantico” posted its first week-to-week declines Sunday night, following a weak showing by fellow freshman drama “Blood & Oil.”

At 10 p.m., “Quantico” drew a 1.6 Nielsen rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo — down 16 percent from last week, when it matched its Sept. 27 series premiere number. Drawing 5.7 million total viewers, “Quantico” followed “Blood & Oil,” which continued to struggle, drawing a 0.8 rating (down 38 percent) and 3.6 million total viewers.

New host Alfonso Ribiero’s debut on “America’s Funniest Home Videos” kicked off the night for ABC, luring a 1.1, down one tenth of a point from last season’s premiere. “Once Upon a Time” followed with 1.6 rating, down 11 percent, matching “Quantico” as the night’s top broadcast scripted show. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Once Upon a time” drew 5.4 million and 5.2 million total viewers, respectively.

ABC was the night’s No. 3 English-language broadcaster with a 1.3 ratings and 4 share.

In addition to competition from NBC’s top-rated Sunday Night Football — which drew a 13.1 household rating and 22 hare in metered market numbers for the San Francisco 49ers-New York Giants game — broadcast shows faced heavy competition from the return of television’s most watched scripted series “The Walking Dead” on cable network AMC. Nielsen will release ratings for “The Walking Dead” and final time-zone-adjusted ratings for football later Monday.

CBS finished second with a 2.3 / 7, thanks largely to overruns from football. News magazine “60 Minutes” followed afternoon NFL action with a 3.o demo rating. “Madame Secretary” followed at 8:30 p.m. with a 1.5, up 7 percent. At 9:30 p.m. “The Good Wife” was even with a 1.2. “CSI: Cyber” declined one tenth of a point to 0.9.

Fox came in fourth with a 1.2 / 4. All Fox series posted declines versus last week, when the network’s comedy block received a big lead-in from football. On Sunday the network led off with a rerun of “The Grinder” followed by new episodes of recently renewed “Bob’s Burgers” (1.0), “The Simpsons” (1.5), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (1.3), “Family Guy” (1.4) and “Last Man on Earth” (1.1)
