Real Goods Solar stock rises on plan to build 4 solar farms in Massachusetts

Shares of Real Goods Solar Inc. rose Friday after the company said that it was working with solar energy company BlueWave Capital to build four solar projects in Massachusetts.

The company, which provides solar power systems for homes and businesses, said that construction is expected to start in March and finish in June.

The cost of the 3.5-megawatt systems was not disclosed.

Shares of Louisville, Colo.-based Real Goods Solar jumped 19 cents, or 6 percent, to $3.38 in afternoon trading Friday. The stock has more than tripled over the past 12 months.
