We Really Hope Mark Zuckerberg's Angel Fire Page Is Real

Hacker News today surfaced this Angel Fire page that looks like it was created by a 15-year-old Mark Zuckerberg, which we hope is the case because it would be a wonderful little look into a hacker's humble beginnings. Like many things on the Internet, this could be a hoax, but a little sleuthing done by Adam Clark Estes over at Motherboard turned up a lot of clues that suggest the page belongs to that Mark Zuckerberg. The AOL e-mail address, Themarke51@aol.com is registered to the same email address used by the Facebook CEO's dad, for example. His full name also appears in the source code:

Beyond the fun java graphics, and all around web 1.0-ness of the site, which was created in 1999, the creator makes a prescient reference to a Zuck controlled social network with his "The Web" applet, which works as such:

If your name is already on The Web because someone else has chosen to be linked to you, then you may choose two additional people to be linked with. Otherwise, if you see someone who you know and would like to be linked with but your name is not already on The Web, then you can contact me and I will link that person to you and put you on The Web. If you do not know anyone on The Web, contact me anyway and I will put you on it. In order for this applet to work, you must E-Mail me your name and the names of the two people that you would like to be linked with. Thank you!

That kind of sounds exactly like Facebook, right? Of course, these could all be conveniently planted details by someone trying to embarrass Zuck a.k.a "Slim Shady."
