Recalls this week include a line of infant recliner seats prone to mold and ATVs

Mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet/moist or is infrequently cleaned, posing a risk of exposure to mold to infants sleeping in the product. The CPSC advises that mold has been associated with respiratory illnesses and other infections. Although mold is not present at the time of purchase, mold growth can occur after use of the product. Consumers should immediately inspect this product and stop using it if mold is found. Units currently in retail stores are not included in this recall to inspect. About 800,000 Fisher-Price infant recliner seats were recalled this week because they are prone to gather mold when they remain wet or are not frequently cleaned. Other recalls include several types of all-terrain and off-road vehicles.
INFANT RECLINER SEATS
DETAILS: Fisher-Price Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper infant recliner seat. The sleeper is designed for babies up to 25 pounds and is composed of a soft plastic seat held by a metal rocking frame. The product has a removable, fabric cover that is sold in 14 patterns and color palettes.
WHY: Mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet or is infrequently cleaned, posing a risk of exposure to mold to infants sleeping in the product. Although mold is not present at the time of purchase, mold growth can occur after use.
INCIDENTS: 600 reports of mold on the product. Sixteen consumers have reported that their infants have been treated for respiratory issues, coughs, and hives after sleeping in the seat.

POWER SUPPLY TRANSFORMERS
DETAILS: Power Supply Transformers made by HEICO lighting, a division of EMD Technologies. They were sold at Denco Sales, Graphic Solution, Hart Supply, Interstate Electric, Montroy Supply Co., N.Glantz & Son, Pioneer Supply, Reece Supply Co., Sun Supply, and Tubelite Co. from December 2011 through May 2012. The neon power supply transformers are designed to power commercial signs. They are in black metal boxes about 4.5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide with rows of vents on all sides. "HEICO LIGHTING" and the model information are printed on a plate on the transformer.
WHY: The transformers do not meet the UL standard for this product, posing a fire risk.
INCIDENTS: None reported.

RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
DETAILS: 2013 Polaris Ranger 400 recreational off-highway vehicles made by Polaris Industries Inc. The effected vehicles have the model number "R13RH45AG" and VIN numbers between "4XARH45A3D4726305" and "4XARH45A7DE648444." They were sold from July 2012 through September of 2012. WHY: The throttle can fail to operate properly, prompting a loss of control.

ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES
DETAILS: Deere & Co. is recalling John Deere Gator RSX850i Base, Sport, and Trail models made between May and October 2012. Serial numbers for the recalled vehicles are listed at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml13/13717.html .
WHY: A fuel line can separate, causing a risk of fire.
INCIDENTS: Three reports of separated fuel lines, but no injuries.

HIGH-PRESSURE SCUBA DIVING AIR HOSES
DETAILS: High-pressure scuba diving air hoses imported by A-Plus Marine Supply Inc. The hoses were sold at scuba diving retailers nationwide from April 2012 through June 2012. They have a black, smooth rubber outer covering and are about 32 to 36 inches long.
WHY: The hose, which connects the regulator to the tank's pressure gauge, can separate, reducing the available air supply to the diver and posing a drowning hazard.
INCIDENTS: Three reports of hoses separating, but no injuries have been reported.

BATTERIES
DETAILS: Omni-Heat lithium-polymer rechargeable batteries. The battery packs were sold by Columbia electric jackets at nine specific stores between September and November of 2012. The stores were located in Sunrise, Fla.; Wrentham, Mass.; Birch Run, Mich.; Albertville, Minn.; Central Valley, N.Y.; Las Vegas; Grove City, Pa.; Park City, Utah; and Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
WHY: The batteries have a cell defect that can cause overheating, posing a fire hazard.
INCIDENTS: One report of overheating in Europe, but no incidents or injuries in the U.S.

The 2012 models include Can-Am Commander 800 and 1000, Can-Am Commander XT 800 and 1000, Can-Am Commander X 1000, and Can-Am Commander Limited 1000.
WHY: Improper assembly of the steering column to the rack-and-pinion can result in a loss of control.
INCIDENTS: Three reports of a loss of steering control, but no injuries.
