Jersey taxpayers are paying more workers than ever before.

The states have employed nearly 400 more people over the past year.

Latest figures show that the number of public sector jobs has risen by 380 over the past year.

9,450 people are now on the states payroll, which is a new record.

That’s 1,670 people more than five years ago, despite repeated attempts to cut the states wages bill.
