    REDCOM Showcases Next Generation Carrier-Class Softswitch Solutions at CeBIT 2012

    REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures the world’s most reliable telecommunications systems, will exhibit its Next Generation Carrier-Class softswitch solutions March 6–10 at CeBIT 2012, Hall 13, Stand D32 in Hannover, Germany.

    REDCOM will showcase the new SLICE® IP Micro, a complete Class 4/5 IP Gateway the size of a hardcover book. The SLICE IP Micro features an industry-standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based architecture, supports up to 3,000 IP subscribers, and is powered by TRANSip®, REDCOM’s VoIP technology suite. TRANSip integrates key IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) elements in a single platform, bringing call management functionality while offering call setup, control, termination, and directory services for IP subscribers through the industry-standard SIP architecture for seamless interoperability. Additionally, TRANSip offers an additional layer of security for VoIP traffic with the ability to encrypt calls. Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) is available to encrypt the audio stream of VoIP calls, and Transport Layer Security (TLS) is available to encrypt the SIP call signaling to provide confidentiality and client authentication.

    REDCOM will also feature the SLICE® IP powered by TRANSip. A single SLICE IP supports up to 3,000 IP subscribers. Up to three SLICE IP systems can be stacked to operate as a single system when greater capacity is required, allowing you to triple your IP trunking and IP subscriber base. The SLICE IP can also stack with REDCOM’s SLICE® 2100™ system when access to TDM or legacy protocols is needed.

    Other products to be highlighted at the show include REDCOM’s HDX and SLICE 2100 Next Generation Softswitch platforms powered by TRANSip. The HDX and SLICE 2100 are innovative hybrid IP/TDM solutions that provide a cost-effective migration to IP by maintaining the functionality and investment in existing TDM infrastructure, while enabling service providers to deploy IP services when it makes sense, eliminating forklift replacements.

    REDCOM’s HDX system with TRANSip provides fully integrated VoIP and TDM in a single platform and is a powerful softswitch and SIP call manager that is both scalable and stackable, offering complete Carrier-Class capabilities. Depending on configuration, HDX supports from 100 to 96,000 IP subscribers, and as many as 8,000 TDM subscribers.

    A highly flexible telecom solution, HDX allows service providers to transition to VoIP on their own schedule and is an ideal “cap and grow” replacement, providing easy migration to IP with all the benefits of VoIP and all the functionality of legacy network infrastructure.
