Refocusing on economy, Obama sets Midwest job tour

WASHINGTON (AP) — The bruising debt fight behind him for now, President Barack Obama is planning a Midwest bus tour later this month that will focus on jobs.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed plans for the trip the week of Aug. 15. He says the president will be happy to get out of Washington and talk with people about how to boost the economy.

As he signed the compromise legislation raising the U.S. debt ceiling, Obama complained that Washington has been "absorbed" by the crisis of a looming default, but American families are still facing a "quiet crisis" of persistently high unemployment. He promised to make job-creating measures his top priority when Congress returns from vacation — including pending trade deals, extending payroll tax cuts and overhauling patent laws.

This is great. Congress will focus on jobs after their vacation. What about the American workers who can't afford to take a vacation or more to the point, the ones who don't have a job to take a vacation from?

Obama is far more interested in drumming up votes than he is in drumming up jobs. I thought his multi-trillion dollar stimulus program was going to create lots of jobs......

A bus tour! Hmm, that could work..............as long as the bus had tinted windows and didn't stop! What is this supposed to make him look more in touch with the people? Is he trying to be portrayed as more compassionate and less arrogant? Give me a break! It not the mode of transportation; it's the character of the occupant that matters! Whether by plane or bus, Americans are sick of his lies!

What the article headline should read: Obama to continue presidential campaign fund-raising tour in mid-west after securing full funding for the remainder of his first term.

      Dear Mr. President,

Stay out of the banks. Stay out of the auto industry. Stay out of Wall Street. Stay out of our healthcare. Stay out of the student loan program. Stay out of my light bulb socket. Stay out of the food that my children consume. Stay out of my electric bill. Stay out of my cellphone calls. Stay out of my Internet sites.

And for the love of GOD..... STAY OUT OF MY WALLET!
